Question 1

I usually don't remember movies I don't like, but I can talk about one movie I didn't really enjoy from my favorite movie series. I really love Godzilla and I have watched all of the movies. I basically like all of them, but one or two of them weren't very good, in my opinion. I was really excited to watch Shin Godzilla, but I thought it was really boring. It is a Toho release and came out in 2016. It is about how the Japanese government reacts to Godzilla destroying Tokyo.

Question 2

Shin Godzilla features Hiroki Hasegawa, Yutaka Takenouchi, and Satomi Ishihara. They were 39, 45, and 30 when the movie came out. I don't know many Japanese actors, so I don't know anything about them. I heard they are famous, though.

Question 3

Shin Godzilla was directed by Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi. Hideaki Anno is famous for working on Evangelion and Shin Ultraman. Shinji Higuchi is famous for working on Evangelion, Attack on Titan, and Shin Ultraman.

Question 4

I think it is bad because the movie is almost completely dialogue and meetings. The only good parts are when they show the evolving Godzilla, but they are few and far between. I would like to see more action.

Question 5

Shin Godzilla received many great reviews and got a score of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes. It also received the Japan Academy Prize for Picture of the Year. Though I think the design for this Godzilla was interesting and the details were shocking, I just can't get over how boring it was.

Question 6

I sometimes watch movies that are recommended by friends, but I usually just decide based on the genre and the cast. I don't really keep up with movie releases since I prefer to watch TV shows instead, but I would like to see the new Shazam movie. I really like Zachary Levi, who stars as Shazam. He was the star of an action/comedy TV series called Chuck, as well.

Question 1

I remember watching an American psychological thriller film titled, "The Perfection" with my friends. It was released in 2018. The movie revolves around two cellist prodigies.

Question 2

The main characters were Allison WIlliams, Logan Browning, and Steven Weber. I'm not too familiar with them. We just wanted to choose a newly released available movie on Netflix that time. Little did we know we would end up wasting time on a movie that just left us perplexed.

Question 3

The director was Richard Shepard. He won some prestigious awards but I guess the movie plot just didn't interest us.

Question 4

There were too many cringey scenes that just didn't make sense. It was supposed to be a thriller but there were a lot of awkward and ridiculous scenes that made us laugh. Although the ending was surprising, it felt dull.

Question 5

When the movie Tenet was released in 2020, there was a lot of hype about it. Sci-fi fans really enjoyed it but I've heard some people need to rewatch it several times to understand the storyline. I prefer to watch movies that can amuse me and relieve my stress. I'm rarely in the mood to watch a movie that has a complicated plot.

Question 6

I used to choose films based on recommendations from my friends. However now that I moved to Japan, there's only a few options on Netflix and Amazon Prime that contains subtitles. I just choose what's available and then check reviews online if it's worthwhile.
