Question 1

I am not sure of the different types, but I guess there are natural and man made ones. I am not a fan of hot springs as I get bored with sitting there doing nothing.

I have never taken a shared hot bath in Japan but I guess there are rules against haressment.

Urashima hotel in Wakayama has famous natural hot springs that overlook the ocean.

Yes, it was very nice. My wife loved it there. I loved the buffet much more than the hot spring.

Honestly, I do not know whether Nara has hot springs or not. I guess there must be some... ? I have never been to a hot spring in Nara.

I have heard that it can help with hangovers. I do not believe that bathing in hot water can cure all health problems but I think that they can ease symptoms.
