Question 1

The most beautiful place I have been in Japan is Manzamo, in Okinawa, also known (in English, for obvious reasons) as Elephant Rock.

Question 2

The landscape there is beautiful and the sunset as seen from there is spectacular. Also, you can get sweet and delicious pineapple there in the right season.

Question 3

I think the most beautiful Japanese actress was Setsuko Hara. She was in several of the classic films of the great Director Yasujirō Ozu. In addition to her classical Japanese beauty, she also usually played characters who embodied classical Japanese qualities.

I imagine that my hobby of drinking and snacking late at night does not do much to improve my looks.

I don't know about Canadian attitudes in general, but I can't imagine anyone among my group of friends choosing to get cosmetic surgery.

I think that, even if I could, I would not choose to do this.

    I know what you mean when you say you don’t know about Canadian attitudes in general. When anyone ever asks me about thing related to Australia, I don’t have much of an opinion. I’ve been out of the country far too long. You may as well be asking me about what things are like in Kazakhstan.

    Jon, my favourite late night snack recently has been microwave karaage, or sometimes fried rice with some shredded cheese on top.

    Jim, it’s so true. Canada seems kind of strange to me when I go back there these days. I am used to life in Japan now, I think.
