Question 1

The youngest person in my family is my sister. In 2050 she will be 53 years old. I imagine she will still be living in the countryside on a farm. That is her ideal lifestyle. She runs a horse rescue and I believe she will continue to help animals until (or even beyond) retirement age.

Question 2

It’s really hard to guess, but I think it will be safer because of the advanced technology we will have. It will be very difficult for criminals to escape justice in a future with high definition cameras with recognition software and advanced AI.

Question 3

I think robots will be common by the 2050s. We already have robot vacuum cleaners and smart appliances, so I believe these will come sooner rather than later. I would really love to have a robot chef. It would be convenient and much healthier for me since I don't like to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.

Question 4

I believe space tourism will remain accessible to only the wealthy. It is too expensive to operate for it to become affordable for lower and even middle class citizens. That being said, I would love to try it, if possible.

Question 5

The people of the 2050s would probably see us the way we see the 1990s. Idealizing some aspects of our current ways and also reflecting upon how far they have come since the 2020s.

Question 6

I hope life will be better for not only Japanese people, but everyone in the world. I hope there will be more cooperation among different countries, trying to create a more peaceful future together.
