  6. Tokyo has been Japan’s capital since 1868, more than 150 years ago. Prior to that, Kyoto served as the nation’s capital and residence of the emperor, for over one thousand years. How are the two cities different from one another? How are they similar?

Question 1

Yes, I have been to Tokyo a few times. I last went to Tokyo about 5 years ago. I went their with my wife. We were stopping off in Tokyo before travelling to New Zealand for a holiday.

Question 2

I like Yoyogi Park in central Tokyo. I stayed in a youth hostel that was close by and I had to walk through the park to get to the train station. I think Yoyogi Park is famous for Tokyo locals.

Question 3

I think Emperor Naruhito is the most famous resident of Tokyo. The entire royal famous resides in Tokyo and have done for many generations. I like this emperor as he seems to be quite friendly.

Question 4

I think Asahi is based in Tokyo. Their headquarters looks interesting as it has a beer foam sculpure at the top of the building.

Question 5

Yes, I would like to live in Tokyo, providing I was very rich. I have never lived in Tokyo as I have heard that it is very expensive to live there.

Question 6

I think the atmosphere is different. For me, Kyoto represents old Japan, while Tokyo represents modern Japan. However, they both have great traditional architecture.

Question 1

I have been to Tokyo multiple times. The last time I went there was about two years ago to get my Schengen visa at the embassy of Denmark. I went there with a friend of mine and we did a little shopping at Harajuku and Ginza.

Question 2

One of the most famous landmarks in Tokyo is Asakusa Shrine. It's popular amongst all kinds of tourists, international and domestic. I believe it's famous because of its historical significance and aesthetic. People often take photos in front of the main gate.

Question 3

One of my favorite Japanese actresses, Nagano Mei is from Tokyo. Her beauty is out of this world. I've been a fan of her since the drama 3年A組 aired on TV. Even though she was still a teenager at that time, her acting is exceptional.

Question 4

All Nippon Airways (ANA) is based in Tokyo. It's Japan's largest airline company and member of the star alliance. They're famous for their exceptional and efficient service. Founded in 1920, ANA has been around for more than a century.

Question 5

I wouldn't like to live in Tokyo, partly because I just love Kyoto so much. I can't stand standing on trains, packed like sardines. I hate crowds and bustling cities.

Question 6

The two cities are different in terms of lifestyle, economy, infrastructure, and history. Kyoto, my hometown, is famous for various world heritage sites and historical areas. They are similar in the sense that getting around is very easy and convenient for those who speak and read Japanese.
