Question 1

Most of the topics that we did in class were fun and thought-provoking! If I had to choose one, I think lesson 29 (Inspiration) was very interesting. It talks a lot about who we are and what we look up to. I got to know all of you better by talking about the things that inspire each one of you.

Question 2

I believe lesson 30 (tax) was relatively difficult as there were so many specific Japanese words that were hard to translate to English. We had a fruitful discussion about taxes in Japan but the time we took a lot of time figuring out various technical words.

Question 3

One of the most interesting things that I have heard from one of my students is the belief in "Migawari" (身代わり) when we were talking about pets. I find it interesting because the belief is rooted in Japanese culture. My dad owns a lot of koi fish but the view of owning fishes as pets greatly differs between the two people.

Question 4

I spend roughly one hour each week writing my compositions. I typically write them on Tuesdays at 1 pm, however, if other pressing things need to be done, I write them on Wednesday evenings.

Question 5

One of the things that I should've said during one of our classes relates to bloodlines. Many of you seem to be interested in my background but we didn't have the time to fully discuss what my genetics is made up of! Perhaps we will do it when a similar topic comes up next time.

Question 6

I would tell that person to be as honest as possible and elaborate their answers as much as they can. It is only from mistakes we truly learn.
