Question 1

I stayed in a hotel in 2019. We went to Bentencho because my wife wanted a change in scenery. I was happy because we also got to watch the Rugby World Cup final on a big TV in our room.

Question 2

It was a nice experience as it was my son's first time away from home. He was very young but he was fine. My wife enjoyed being away from home and I enjoyed watching the rugby.

Question 3

I think Japanese capsule hotels are unique. They are small and for solo travellers. I think it is a great idea.

Question 4

I think Japanese hotels have all Western hotel features.

Question 5

I prefer Western hotels as that is what I am comfortable with.

Question 6

I have stayed in a Youth Hostel and capsule hotel. They were cheap but clean and good value for money.

Question 1

I stayed at a hotel earlier this month. It was two different hotels, one in Nagano and the other one in Nagoya. I went there for a new year trip. The hotels were pretty cramped but comfortable. It was very cheap as I booked them when the go-to-campaign was still going on.

Question 2

It was a good experience overall as I was able to sleep comfortably. The heater worked well so I was able to stay warm during my stay.

Question 3

When it comes to ryokans, staff are required to serve at least two meals to the customer. This service is done by bringing the food directly to the guest's room, allowing more interaction between customers and staff. Hotels, on the other hand, have a space dedicated for guests to eat their meals. From my experience, a buffet is the most common form of service for breakfasts.

Question 4

In one of the hotels that I have stayed in at Bali (Indonesia), we were able to make shopping requests to the staff. You can request even luxury goods such as a Louis Vuitton bag or a Hermes bracelet. I think this kind of service that luxury hotel offers is unique to them.

Question 5

I haven't actually stayed in a Japanese style hotel before, so I can't make an objective judgment. However, most of the Western-style hotels that I have stayed in gave me a really good impression of hotels in general.

Question 6

I have only stayed in a resort, business, and luxury hotel. They were all fantastic. My personal favorite would have to be Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and Mandarin Oriental. They raise the standard to a higher level.
