Question 1

One of the most famous tourist attractions would probably be the Eiffel Tower. I've not been there but I would absolutely want to go. I know it's super touristy, but I think everyone should be able to go to Paris at least once in their life and experience the food and culture there.

Question 2

The most famous tourist attraction in my country is probably the white sand beaches in Boracay. I've been there several times. The best time was when I was a child and there weren't that many resorts there yet so the beach was pristine and beautiful. Over th years Boracay became overdeveloped that there's barely any beach left to enjoy, there are too many resorts, restaurants and shops on the beach. Recently the Philippine government shut down Boracay and removed many of these resorts and shops to rehabilitate the beautiful white sand beaches. It made a big improvement but it was never as beautiful as it was when I was a child. I probably won't visit again. I would rather go to the beaches in Palawan or Bohol.

Question 3

I'm from Manila and there's really nothing I can recommend there that you won't see in other places. I do want to recommend going scuba diving in Anilao, Batangas. It's one of the best scuba diving places for beginners. Anilao, Batangas is only a 2-3 hour drive from Manila.

Question 4

The most iconic tourist attraction I have been to was the Sahara desert. It was like nothing I have ever seen before. The colors were amazing and at night you could see the milky way with your bare eyes. It was a sight I would never forget. I will definitely come back soon and spend more time there.

Question 5

The most interesting place I have ever visited was Marrakech in Morocco. I spent 4 days there and still it wasn't enough time. It was beautiful and dirty and crowded and exciting. I have traveled to many different countries and they would always feel a little familiar, but Marrakech was so different, nothing there was familiar at all and I enjoyed that. I felt like I was having a real adventure every day.

Question 6

I already talked about Boracay in the Philippines, but another place would be the rice terraces in Benguet, Ifugao. I went there when I was child and it wasn't a popular tourist destination yet, they didn't even have hot water and it was really cold there! The nature was so breathtakingly beautiful and clean. But, recently it's become too popular because it was featured in a Filipino movie that became a big hit. They got a lot more business and tourism but the bad effects were greater. Lots of people have been going there and, sadly, it has become too dirty, tourists would just leave their garbage everywhere. There were a couple major forest fires as well.

Question 1

My iconic tourist attraction is Teotihucan in Mexico. I have been there and it is an amazing place. When I went you could climb to the top of the pyramids. The view was spectacular and the height of the pyramids and the amount of work to make a structure that huge so long ago was astounding.

Question 2

I think the most famous tourist attraction in New Zealand is the nature at Fiordland National Park. It is close to my home town so I have been there half a dozen times.

Question 3

In my home town called Invercargill, the two unique things to see are the Southern Aurora which is around March to May or August to September. The other is to go to a farm to see hundreds of sheep and maybe a shearing show.

Question 4

I think there are three iconic buildings that I have visited. One was the Houses of Parliament and surrounding buildings in London which were really amazing. I loved the way they looked. The second was the Eiffel Tower in Paris which was a little ugly up close but unique at a distance. The third was the Kremlin which was very interesting due to the history and the uniqueness of the buildings there.

Question 5

I think Teotihucan. In addition to my answer to Question 1, the Mexican people are really great, the food is amazing, and the weather is fantastic.

Question 6

A place which has suffered is Kyoto. There are so many tourists nowadays that it takes away the traditional charm of the buildings. The atmosphere has also changed with the massive increase in tourists. I have never been to Las Vegas, but I remember hearing somewhere that it has benefited massively from tourists as it is a town in the middle of the desert.

Question 1

The Empire State Building. I have been to the Empire State Building once. It is kind of a scam. It is so touristy that they charge 30$(3,000¥) just to take the elevator to the top of New York's tallest building. It's a nice view, but not worth it. You can go to the top of the Chrysler Building for free. It's New York's second-tallest building.

Question 2

The Grand Canyon is the number 1 tourist attraction in the U.S.A. I have spent over three weeks hiking and camping in the Grand Canyon National Park. It's beautiful! We also took a rafting trip down the Colorado River when we were there. It's amazing to think about the power of one river and how it changed the landscape so dramatically.

Question 3

Mt. Shigi. Horyuji Temple is the most famous tourist attraction in my area, but I prefer temples on top of mountains. The view of Nara below is beautiful, and at night when all of the candles are lit it is a truly spiritual place.

Question 4

Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris, France. It was as spectacular as I had expected. Unfortunately, it recently suffered a major fire and was severely damaged.

Question 5

Glacier National Park, Montana, U.S.A. I spent eight weeks hiking Glacier. I hiked north into Waterton National Park, Canada. It is the most beautiful landscape you could ever imagine. It is frequently voted as the most beautiful backpacking park in the world. You have to be careful, as there are many Grizzly Bears and Mountain Lions.

Question 6

I think recently that the Dominican Republic has suffered a lot of negative publicity involving American tourists. 12 American tourists have died in the resort part of the Dominican in the last year. This has damaged a huge sector of tourism for the Dominican. Most of the deaths have been investigated and have been declared natural or accidental deaths.

Question 1

Sultan Ahmed Mosque, otherwise known as the Blue Mosque. I went there during a trip to Turkey about nine years ago. It was a very impressive structure. Unfortunately, the weather was really overcast on the day we went, so all of our photos look terrible.

Question 2

I imagine that when most foreigners are planning a sightseeing around Australia, they immediately think of Uluru. Uluru, known as Ayers Rock by those who want to upset the indigenous population, is the big red rock in the middle of the country. I have never been there myself and I'm not really in any hurry to go there. I hear it is very hot, dry, and dusty. Also, apparently there are so many flies, it is very easy to swallow one if you're talking too much!

Question 3

I live in Yao city. I've only lived there a handful of years so I don't really know it all that well. Yao is in Osaka prefecture, with which I am a little more familiar. In Osaka city, in Tennoji to be exact, you will find the tallest building in Japan – Abeno Harukas. It is 300 meters tall, giving you a great view of the surrounding area from the observatory. You can even see Rokko and Ikoma mountains on a clear day.

Question 4

I visited Himeji castle a number of years ago. I read in a guide book before I came out here that it is one of three castles in Japan that has been maintained in original condition. I also read that it was a very well designed castle, with lots of secret places and easily defensible positions. All that sounded really cool on paper. The reality is it's a big, dark, empty building. Nagoya's is much better – they have a 3D cinema in their castle!

Question 5

I'm going to cheat and recommend a bunch of places in Australia: Uluru (of course, though remember that you can no longer climb it), Daintree National Park, Kakadu National Park, Blue Mountains National Park, Blue Lake, and the Great Ocean Road. These are all places of scenic beauty in nature around Australia. I'm not sure I'd recommend visiting any of them at the moment, since the entire country seems to be on fire right now!

Question 6

The Great Barrier Reef. It used to be one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World. Now, it's dead. I'm not sure that it was tourists specifically that killed it. People did used to take pieces of it with them as a souvenir when they visited, so that didn't help. It's definitely the fault of humans and our polluting of the seas and oceans. It's devastating looking at before and after shots of the reef; where once it was a thriving, colorful aquatic biome, now it's a grey husk. It's just so sad.
